Submission &
Recording Consent
Last updated September 24, 2026
These terms explain what you agree to when you send Diary of a Divorcee a story or question, or participate in a recorded conversation.
Submitting a story or question
You confirm that your submission is truthful to the best of your knowledge, is your own to share and does not violate another person’s rights. You agree not to include confidential, defamatory, unlawful or identifying information about children or private individuals.
Your permission choice controls use
Your form selection tells us whether the submission is private, may be discussed anonymously, may be shared anonymously on the website or social media, or is an application for a recorded podcast conversation. Submitting does not guarantee a response, publication or appearance.
Editing and anonymity
If you permit publication, you allow us to edit for length, clarity, grammar, safety and privacy without changing the central meaning. We may change names and identifying details or decide not to use a submission. “Anonymous” means we will not intentionally publish the name or contact information you provide, but complete anonymity cannot be guaranteed when a story contains recognizable facts or your voice is recorded.
Recorded conversations
If selected for the podcast, you authorize Diary of a Divorcee and Carrie Pyle Lawrence to record your voice and conversation and to edit, reproduce, publish, distribute, promote and archive that recording, in whole or in excerpts, in audio, video, website, newsletter and social-media formats worldwide. This permission is voluntary and provided without an expectation of payment unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
Before recording
Submitting the application only gives permission to contact you about recording. If selected, recording details, your preferred name or alias and any additional release terms should be confirmed before recording begins. You may withdraw before recording by emailing us. After content has been recorded, produced or published, removal may not always be possible.
No professional relationship
Participation does not create a therapist-client, attorney-client, medical, financial or other professional relationship. The conversation is personal commentary and entertainment, not professional advice.
